Small Haul: Urban Decay, MAC

Hello everyone! So I went on a trip to Glasgow yesterday and treated myself to a few bits and pieces, so I thought I'd show you what I got!

Urban Decay De-Slick XL: £23.00
I was given a £20 Debenhams gift voucher for my birthday, so technically, I only paid £3 for this hugeeeee bottle of setting spray. This spray is for before and after applying make up, and is supposed to have oil control properties, fingers crossed!

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study: £14.50
After seeing the new range of Maybelline Color Tattoos that are only available in America (boo!), I really wanted a lighter cream eyeshadow base. Bare study is a beautiful pale shimmery colour, I'm so glad I bought it!

Bare Study
Annddd, I got one more thing!

Police To Be Woman Ea Du Parfum: £16.66
I purchased this perfume on offer in boots, £16.66 for 40ml seems like a great bargain. It has a lovely floral scent, nothing over the top. You may have noticed theres a skull on the box, which leads me to my favourite part of this perfume, the bottle!

It's a purple skull! Its absolutely gorgeous!

Anyway, thats it for now, stay tuned for my upcoming 100 follower giveaway! Ta ta for now xx

Smooch Blush in Kookie Crumble

Hello all! Just a quick wee post to show you the most recent addition to my blush collection, Smooch Blusher in Kookie Crumble: £3.99

Smooch are a new, relatively small cosmetics brand, but their products are lovely. The outer packaging is pink with a black lace design, like lingerie! Smooch have based their products around sexy underwear, and this is what they have to say:

"The concept for Smooch came quite simply from a drawer of lingerie. Whilst getting ready for a big night out, Kitty mused over the fact that cosmetics were really like underwear – you have your basics, everyday white, black and nudes. These are the foundation of your lingerie drawer.

Then you have the other section, the items you save for special occasions, the bra with extra lace that offers additional cleavage, the super sheer pants that give you a great bum with no vpl and make your legs go on forever. Cosmetics are a little like your lingerie drawer, you have your everyday basics that you apply without really thinking about it, then you have the special mascara and uber gloss for that big night out."

The packaging itself is very simple, a matte black case with 'Smooch' written in pink. Its actually very similar to NARS blush packaging, and I think thats intentional. Its also the same size as ELF blushes, which is handy for storage!

Kookie Crumble is a lovely nudey colour, with slight peach undertones and silver glitter. I think its meant to be a dupe for NARS Sin, although I don't have it to compare (yet!). Unlike lots of other blushes, the glitter and shimmer does transfer onto your cheeks. Its not chalky at all, and is quite pigmented.

Overall, its a great blush, especially for £3.99. I can't say I'd repurchase because I plan on trying NARS blushes first, but I'm definitely impressed! I bought my blush at my local bargain shop, but you can purchase Smooch cosmetics at www.smoochcosmeticsuk.com

Hope you enjoyed this post, I'll be back with more soon! :) xx

Coming Soon: Models Own Mirrorball Collection

Hello everyone! I've got something pretty amazing to show you today! Earlier, Models Own posted this photo on their Facebook page:

Each polish contains 5 different colours of chunky hand cut glitter. Don't they look amazing! Here's how Models Own describe them:

Disco Inferno: a glittery gold disco bomb.
Hot Stuff: an intoxicating mix of pink and gold sparkles.
Freak Out: a crystal shimmer mix of  bold blue and purple.
Dancing Queen: fabulous flecks of blue green and gold.
Boogie Nights: a multicoloured mix of purple, pink and blue.

These remind me a lot of the Nails Inc diamond polishes, especially with the limited edition metallic coloured lids! These really are gorgeous, and I can't wait to get my hands on them, especially Boogie Nights! The collection is released exclusively at the Models Own Bottleshop on Thursday 6th September, on the Models Own website from Monday 10th September and in Boots stores nationwide from Wednesday 3rd October.

Illamasqua Haul

Hello everyone! It was my birthday last week, so I decided to treat myself with some of my birthday money to some Illamasqua goodies! I had 10% off online, plus a 15% off birthday discount, plussss I got two free liquid metals because I spent over a certain amount!

So I thought I'd show you what I got, since its all so gorgeous!

I also got a free sample of their Freak perfume, which smells absolutely amazing.

Illamasqua Powder Blush in Naked Rose.
Illamasqua Cream Blush in Zygomatic.
Illmasqua Cream Blush in Rude.
I got three blushes, one powder and two cream. I bought Illamasquas two most recent launches from their Naked Strangers collection. Naked Rose is a lovely baby pink with a nudey brown undertone, which makes it totally different to a lot of blushes I've seen. Zygomatic is the opposite, a nude brown with pink undertones! I also bought Rude, a gorgeous pastel peach. I was unsure of how the cream blushes would be on my oily skin, but they last surprisingly well and give me skin a dewy glow.

Illamasqua Matt Primer
I finally got the Matt Primer after it being sold out on the Illamasqua website for months. This has a strange texture compared to other primers, its quite runny. I haven't worn it enough to do a full review, but so far, thumbs up!

Illamasqua Eyeshadow in CanCan
CanCan is an incredible colour, its 'electric lilac', and is a match for the Illamasqua nail varnish in Jo'mina. Its really gorgeous, and very pigmented!

Illamasqua Pure Pigment in Static
This pigment is also gorgeous, it doesn't photograph well, but its a white pigment that when applied is actually pink and purple glitter. Its so shimmery and very 'fairy dust'. Its lovely over CanCan.

Illamasqua Liquid Metals in Enrapture and Phenomena.
I got both of these free as part of an 'Olympic Medal' offer, when I spent over a certain amount of money. I already own the gold colour, Electrum. They are so smooth and creamy, and really are like liquid metals!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Bye for now! xx

Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to show you the most reent addition to my brushes, the Real Techniques stippling brush.

I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Real Techniques brush after umming and ahhing over not liking the shape of the handle of the brushes. The brushes have been designed by Sam Chapman, who many of you will know is one of the sisters from Pixiwoo on YouTube.

Real Techniques Stippling Brush: £11.99
I have to say I'm very impressed! The quality of this brush is brilliant, the bristles are really soft. It's quite a small sized brush, perfect for applying cream blush, which is what I've been using it for. I haven't had the chance to test it out applying foundation yet, but no doubt it'll be great for that too!
Hope you all enjoyed this post! I'll be back soon with a big Illamasqua haul! Xx

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace

Hello lovelies! Last week I noticed Sleek Make Up had restocked their Blush by 3 palette in Lace on their website, amd I quickly snapped it up. They are only available online now, and Lace has been out of stock for months, so I'm so glad to have it!

Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in Lace: £10.00

The packaging is lovely, sleek and black with shiny writing, just what I like! Its not a large palette at all, but a perfect size for travelling.

Chantilly, Guipure, Crochet

It contains 3 blushes, Chantilly, Guipure and Crochet, and boy are they bright! Chantilly is a matte tangerine colour with peachy undertones, Guipure is a shimmery rose gold, and Crochet is a matte bright coral pink. They are highly pigmented, and very very bright! I recommend those with pale skin to apply with caution, and a light hand.

These really are much brighter than in these swatches, but they're so beautiful. I don't have many scary bright colours in my blush collection, so I'm excited to see what they work with!

Hope you enjoyed this post! I'll be back soon with a biggggg Illamasqua haul, but bye for now! xx

Birthday Post!

Hello lovelies! It was my birthday yesterday and I turned the grand old age of twenty! I had a wonderful day, seen lots of family and went out for a lovely dinner! I have plans to go out with friends next week. I just wanted to show you the beauty related presents I got, although I know these birthday posts can be controverisial!

Disclaimer: I'm extremely grateful for everything I was given, and I'm in no way showing off. Some people enjoy seeing what others get for their birthdays, others don't. I'm just going to show you beauty related stuff as it makes an interesting post for this blog!

The Body Shop Hemp Gift Set
The Body Shop Body Mist in Japanese Cherry Blossom
These were gifts from my parents, who know how Body Shop obsessed I am. I actually picked these out for myself, I didn't get many surprises from my Mum and Dad this year (apart from the massive surprise when they helped my Grandpa secretly get me an Ipad! He's 82 and has one of his own so he can keep up to date and in touch with everyone! They even wrapped it up in an old Katy Perry perfume set to fool me even more!).

Beyonce Pulse Eau Du Parfum 100ml
Yves Saint Laurent Elle Eau Du Toilette 30ml
The Beyonce perfume was a gift from my older cousin. I would never have picked this out myself, just because I'm not a Beyonce fan, but the scent is lovely! I really like it. The YSL perfume, I again picked for myself from the sale in Boots, its a really nice evening perfume and I wore it out for dinner! I haven't really posted much about perfume on this blog, but I'm a perfume fiend as well as a beauty fiend!

The Body Shop White Musk Gift Set
This was another gift from my big cousin, and its a gorgeous wee Body Shop gift set! It has a mini shower gel, body lotion, a 30ml eau du toilette, and a loofah.

Victorias Secret Make Up Bag
Victorias Secret Luscious Kisses Fragrance Mist
Victorias Secret Luscious Kisses Body Lotion
Victorias Secret Be Seduced Eau Du Toilette 30ml

My Auntie, Uncle and little cousins gave me these Victorias Secret goodies, which they brought back from America with them! I can't believe my luck, they're amazing. I don't think I'll ever use the make up bag incase the little jewels fall off, think I'll keep it for ornamental purposes!

Incase you're wondering "Why no make up?", well, no one got me any! My family are a clever bunch, they know I'm a beauty junkie, so rather than buying me something I might not like, they're kind enough to give me gift vouchers or money which I can spend on make-up if I want to!

I'm really grateful for everything I was given for my birthday, my family are the best, and everything is amazing! I can't wait to hit the town with my friends on Saturday! :) xx

Cheap Brush Cleaner: ASDA Little Angels

Hello lovelies! Just a quick post to show you my new brush cleaner that I bought in ASDA tonight. I've been told baby shampoo is the best way to clean make up brushes. I'm planning on buying some Sigma brushes after my birthday on Sunday, and want to take good care of them!

ASDA Little Angels Conditioning Shampoo 100ml: 75p

This is a new addition to the ASDA baby range, and is a mini travel size version of their baby shampoo! The normal shampoo is a huge 750ml bottle, but this 100ml mini is just perfect for brush cleaning and will last me a good while! At 75p you can't complain either!

I've yet to try this, but no doubt it'll be much better than the soaps/normal shampoo's I've used in the past.

I hope this post was helpful, I'm turning 20 on Sunday so if I'm lucky I'll have a few things to show you! Bye for now :) xx

More Illamasqua! Sale Haul

Hello my lovelies! I'm sure most of you know about Illamasquas huge summer sale, which ended on Tuesday. I already purchased a concealer and foundation earlier in July, but I made another ordered which included another concealer, and the two items I'm going to show you today, a lipstick and lipgloss!

Illamasqua Lipstick in Fetish: £5.00 (normally £15.50)
Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Tantrum: £7.50 (normally £13.00)

The packaging is lovely. Some people have complained and said Illamasqua packaging is cheap plastic, but I don't think so! The lipstick comes in a sleek square black case, and the lipgloss in a see through squeezy tube with a flat applicator. I'm not sure if this will continue to be the packaging of Illamasqua glosses as on their website the Intense lipglosses have now changed to a square packaging with a brush applicator, but the Sheer glosses remain in the squeezy tube.

Tantrum is a gorgeous shimmery dark purple pink. It looks amazing in the tube and is lovely on the lips too. It is a sheer lipgloss, so doesn't apply just as dark as in the tube, but still leaves lots of colour on the lips. Its not sticky or tacky at all.

Fetish is a dark matte purple, a little darker than in the picture. Truthfully, it doesn't apply well, it can be a little patchy, the formulation is quite dry! However, with a decent lip liner underneath or a gloss on top, its beautiful.

Tantrum and Fetish are great together, and create a lovely berry lip.

I'm really pleased with my first lip products from Illamasqua. I've heard that Fetish is their most dificult to apply, so I'm not worried about purchasing another lipstick from them as the colours are amazing!

Hope you enjoyed this post! :) xx

My Big Illamasqua Mistake!

Hello lovelies! Today I went into Illamasqua intending to buy one blusher, and came out with the exclusive to Debenhams £38 'mystery box'. I knew that 'Collide' nail varnish and 'Electrum' liquid metal were in the box, but there was a mystery blush, lipgloss, lipstick and eyeshadow.

Worth £91.50, I thought 'Wow, what a bargain!' and the lovely sales assistant agreed with me. So I disregarded my blusher and bought this set:

I was extremely dissapointed. The sales assistant told me the boxes contained best selling products, but the blush, lipstick and lipgloss are all discontinued products!

The box was clearly designed for darker skintones, as the blusher in 'Create' is far too dark for me, though it makes a lovely matte bronzer. The lipgloss in 'Twist' is pretty much poo brown and just wouldn't work for me, and will be going on Ebay. The lipstick in Blaze is bright orange, and although gorgeous, its not for me. I might add it to my 100 follower giveaway! The eyeshadow in 'Never' was dissapointing as dark blue isn't my thing, but I've decided to keep it and have a play about with it!

Of course, I'm really pleased with some of the products and pleasantly surprised by others after trying them out. They're all the usual high quality of Illamasqua products and I can't complain about that!

Next time, I'll be sticking to gift sets where I actually know whats in them! I wouldn't recommend these mystery sets unless you're willing to take a risk, if you are, then they're an amazing bargain.

I have another Illamasqua haul from their sale last week, where I was much more pleased, I'll pop that up later! xx

My Tribute To Marilyn.

Hello lovelies! Today is the 50th anniversary of the death of the one and only Marilyn Monroe. Considered by many (myself included) to be the most beautiful woman in the world, I'm a huge fan of Marilyn and own a big boxset of almost all her movies.

She is a beauty and style icon, famous for her blonde hair, big red lips and that beauty mark.

I'm going to show you a few beauty products that I use to create the Marilyn Monroe pin-up moviestar look! I genuinely own all these products and use them in creating the pin-up look I wear most days, I just didn't have time to photograph them!

MAC Russian Red Lipstick:
The classic red lipstick for beauty addicts the world over. Miss Monroe's favourite lipstick was a Guerlain red, but if MAC had been around in the 50s, I bet Marilyn would've worn Russian Red. A favourite of modern pin-up and burlesque star Dita Von Teese its perfect for creating the look.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette:
Marilyn always wore lots of champagne coloured eyeshadows, with a darker brown in the crease. The Naked 2 palette is perfect for creating a pin-up eye look.

Rimmel Glam' Eyes Liner:
No Marilyn Monroe make up is complete without black 'cat eye' eyeliner, and of course, her famous beauty spot!

Sleek Brow Kit:
All 50s pin ups and actresses had extremely well groomed brows. Use Sleek's Brow Kit for perfect brows.
Illamasqua Powder Blush in Tremble:
Pink cheeks are a staple in the pin-up look. Use Tremble sparingly for a sheer flush of colour!

Katy Perry for Eyelure 'Oh Honey!' Lashes:
Popstar Katy Perry is another example of a modern day girl who loves the pin-up look! These lashes in 'Oh Honey!' are perfect for creating big bambi eyes.

These products should have you looking fabulous like Marilyn! I hope you enjoyed this post, I'll leave you with one of Marilyn Monroe most famous performances, from my favourite film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes:

Diamonds are a girls best friend! More posts coming soon! xx

July Favourites 2012

Hello lovelies! Just a quick post to show you my July favourites!

Lush Tea Tree Water: £3.95
I've been loving using this toner water after cleansing and exfoliating, and I feel its helped close up my pores a bit and stopped my skin from being so oily.

Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation in 150: £10.00
I bought this foundation in the Illamasqua sale, and I've been seriously loving it. Its very heavy coverage, but I don't find this as hard to work with as some bloggers, as long as you have the right brush and work quickly its fine! It covers almost everything, and gives my skin the best finish and lasting time of all the foundations I own.

Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait: £7.99
I'm now a convert of the Revlon Lip Butters, and this is my favourite out of the ones I own. Peach Parfait is a nice peachy neutral colour with lots of gold glitter.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze: £4.99
I've had this a while now, and its my go to eye colour for an easy look if I don't have lots of time. It blends really well and you can pair it with other eyeshadows, I sometimes put this on my lid then a darker shadow in my crease.

MAC Heavenly Creature MSF in Light Year: £21.50
I haven't had this for long, but its quickly become my favourite blush for wearing with a heavy eye/lip colour. Its a sheer peachy colour with gold shimmer.

Hope you enjoyed this post! What are your July favourites? xx
