LUSH Danger! Cosmetics To Go Book Launch And Xmas Event

The lovely author, Mira Manga! (excuse the thumb in the corner).
My copy of Danger! Cosmetics To Go and the amazing goody bag contents!
I was recently lucky enough to be invited to LUSH Cosmetics on Glasgow's Buchanan Street for the launch of their first ever book: Danger! Cosmetics To Go. Myself and some other lovely Scottish bloggers were asked along to hear more about the book from it's author, Mira Manga, and to check out all their gorgeous Christmas gifts!

Danger! Cosmetics To Go is an absolutely stunning book and definitely one for keeping out on your coffee table! Heres what LUSH have to say about it: "Danger! Cosmetics To Go is the story of the company that preceded LUSH and tells of the meteoric rise and devastating fall of the dynamic cosmetics brand that revolutionised bathing and enchanted customers with their innovative offerings, all well ahead of their time". The book includes entertaining stories and incredible images of the products that inspired LUSH, infact I would love for them to bring some back! It's so colourful and enticing, you can't help but pick it up and read it. We also got the chance to chat with the author Mira Manga (who is amazing and very funny!) and she told us about her personal connection with the book and how much fun she had writing it.

We were treated to some lovely drinks and nibbles, and were thoroughly pampered. I got the chance to smell and test out some products I'd never seen before, and boy oh boy did I lust over some of those Christmas gifts! We were sent home with a copy of the book each and an unbelievably generous goody bag! If you're a lover of all things LUSH, or know someone who is, Danger! Cosmetics To Go would make a perfect gift for yourself or someone else! It's available at all LUSH stores and retails at £19.95.

Beauty Blogger Advent Calendar Swap | December 7-12

As promised here are Days 7-12 of the beauty blogger advent calendar swap I did with Laura from Petit Moi - Big World! I am seriously having so much fun doing this.

Day 7: Studio London Nail File & Case - I opened up a very pretty and very handy nail file case, which had a lovely glass nail file inside, the case makes it perfect for on the go!
Day 8: Miners Blush - On the 8th of December I opened up a gorgeous Miners blush, it's a very girly shimmery shade of pink!
Day 9: The Body Shop Rainforest Hair Butter Sachets - I can't wait to try these, I love trying new hair treatments s my frizzy curly hair needs so much moisture.
Day 10: Birchbox Gel Eye Mask - I absolutely love this, it's a plastic eye mask filled with a cooling gel that you pop in the fridge - I'm excited to use this along with a face mask during pamper sessions!
Day 11: Sleek iDivine Vintage Romance Palette - This was by far the most exciting thing this week, this palette is gorgeous! It's got some amazing Christmassy shades and I'll need to take better photos with swatches at some point!
Day 12: Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Body Wash - Such a very cute and very posh body wash, thank you Laura! It smells so good too!

I'm feeling so lucky and very very grateful right now, so thank you again Laura, I'm really enjoying this! Tune in next week for days 13-18 or follow me on Instagram (beautyfiend_) for daily pictures!

Constance Carroll | Shimmer Glimmer Shimmering Powder

Hello everyone! Just wanted to begin this post by apologising; I've been a bad blogger. Over the last couple of weeks I lost my blogging mojo and just let it slip. But I'm back! With a quick review of these Shimmer Glimmer powders from Constance Carroll:

Constance Carroll Shimmer Glimmer in Nude Shimmer & Pink Shimmer: 95p each available here

I picked these up in my local Watt Brothers for 99p each, but you can find them online for as cheap as 95p. Truthfully, I had never heard of Constance Carroll before, but these Shimmer Glimmer powders looked lovely. And for 99p who can complain?

I bought the shades Nude Shimmer and Pink Shimmer, although there are another 3/4 colours. Nude Shimmer is my favourite of the two. It has three semi-matte shades and one more shimmery gold strip. It creates such a natural highlight and can even be used all over the face if you like a shimmery (but not too glittery) look. Pink Shimmer is definitely a blush on me, but those with darker skins could use it as a highlight. You could even use the two darker strips as a blush and the lighter two as a highlight, they really are multi purpose products.

If I was an MUA I would snap up all the shades of these and depot them into a palette! They have such good pigmentation considering they only cost me 99p I'm very pleased. Have you ever tried any Constance Carroll products?

MAC | Temperature Rising Eyeshadow Quad

Originally I was never going to get anything from the MAC Temperature Rising, but one thing led to another and here we are!

from l-r clockwise - performance art, temperature rising, swelter, beauty marked.
MAC Temperature Rising Eyeshadow Quad: £38.50 -

I am so so glad I purchased this. This quad is seriously one of the most beautiful things I've owned. My pictures don't do it justice but the colours are really stunning. The colours are as follows;
Performance Art; a frosted golden mauve.
Temperature Rising; a light warm toned peach.
Swelter; a mid-tone grey violet.
Beauty Marked; a charcoal black with red pearl.

I've been loving wearing performance art all over the lid with swelter in the crease and beauty marked to darken up the outer crease. It's such a beautiful palette and surprisingly wearable. It's really versatile too! You could pop temperature rising all over the lid for an everyday look, or use beauty marked to go for a full on smokey eye.

At nearly forty quid this quad is pretty pricey, but I know I'll get use out of this, unlike loads of other palettes I've impulse bought. The quality is up to MAC's usual standards (beauty marked can be a little difficult to work with, but it is a glittery black!) and I have no regrets!

I couldn't get any decent swatches, but if you head over to Heather Davern Make Up (http://www.heatherdavernmakeup.com/2013/05/mac-bare-my-soul-temperature-rising.html) she has some beautiful swatches and a gorgeous FOTD using this palette.

Wednesday Wishlist | #1

Heres another hopefully regular feature - Wednesday wishlists! Here are a few products I've been lusting after recently:

WednesdayWishlist#1

Urban Decay 'The Great and Powerful Oz' Glinda Palette: £35.00 from Debenhams - This limited edition corker is due to be released at the end of the month! There are two palettes, the light Glinda palette and the darker Theodora palette. I have loads of dark neutral palettes so I fancy something different and have my eye on the Glinda palette!

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stains: £23.50 from Debenhams, Boots, House Of Fraser - I don't own any YSL  products but I've had my eye on these glossy stains for a while. Some of the shades are absolutely stunning, particularly the darker more purply shades.

Inglot Freedom System Eyeshadows: £4.50 each from Inglot - I bought my first Inglot palette earlier this month and I absolutely love it. If I could afford it I would buy another one in a minute. The quality of the shadows are just fantastic.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers: £5.99 from Boots and Superdrug - These are the newest product from Rimmel, and I've already ordered two from their Facebook shop (now sold out). I suppose they're a cheap version of the YSL glossy stains, and I can't wait for mine to arrive! They should start appearing in shops soon.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade: £21.50 from MAC and House Of Fraser - Sadly, this beautiful skin finish is in the Goodbyes section of the MAC website - but don't worry! - if you miss out like I will be this time, Lightscapade will be returning later in the year as part of the Hayley Williams collection! Hooray!

NARS Blushers in Mata Hari and Douceur: £21 each from NARS and House of Fraser - NARS blushes are on my radar, big time thanks to Laurzrah's NARS blush collection! I already own Sin but Douceur and Mata Hari are now on my wishlist.
