Beauty Blogger Advent Calendar Swap | December 1st-6th

As some of you may remember, I did a summer beauty swap with Laura from Petit Moi - Big World after Kat from Tales of a Pale Face paired us together. Well, Kat recently did another post about creating a beauty advent calendar for yourself or a friend, and Laura suggested to me we do it as a swap!

I haven't had an advent calendar for a few years now so this was very very exciting! Unwrapping all of the parcels all at once was tempting, but I've been good and I'll show you what I get every 6 days!

Day 1: Barry M Textured Nail Paint in Countess - This was a wonderful surprise, as its the most beautiful nail polish ever! Thank you so much Laura! It's the perfect Christmas party shade.
Day 2: Eyelure Pre-Glued Lashes - Another thing thats perfect for Christmas! I needed some eyelashes for my work's night out and these will do the trick.
Day 3: L'Occitane Mini Shea Hand Cream - I love L'Occitane hand creams, they're so moisturising and this one is a great size for popping in my handbag.
Day 4: Katy Perry Killer Queen Sample -  I'd wanted to smell this since it came out, and now I have the chance! It's lovely and very floral and fruity it's definitely a possibility that I'll buy a bottle at some point.
Day 5: Essie Smooth Sailing Mini - I don't normally wear a lot of blue nail polish, but this colour is stunning. It's like a darker version of Bikini So Teeny and I think it's very wintry and icy even though it's not supposed to be!
Day 6: Montagne Jeunesse and Superdrug Face Masks - You can't go wrong with a good ol' face mask, especially in the party season when I love a good pamper session!

I am absolutely thrilled with everything so far and just wanted to thank Laura again - I'm absolutely loving this!

You can see what I get everyday by following me on Instagram (beautyfiend_) where I'll be posting my advent calendar goodies daily!

Good Things | Face The Day Moisturiser & Five Minute Facial

Good Things Face The Day Moisturiser: 49p (normally £7.99)
Good Things Five Minute Facial Face Mask: 49p (normally £5.99)

Yup, that's right. 49p each for these Good Things goodies. What a bargain! I found them in the bargain bin of my local Superdrug, and it would seem they're no longer stocking the brand, although you can still buy them in Boots and Sainsbury's.

The Face The Day moisturiser is lovely! Its a little greasy for my oily skin, but I believe Good Things also do a mattifying moisturiser. The one thing I really like about it is that it smells so good! It has goji berry and papaya extracts and doesn't contain any parabens or mineral oil. Overall its a really nice moisturiser and if you have normal skin this would be bang on.

The Five Minute Facial face mask is really nice. It doesn't target any skin problems in particular, but it says it will make skin 'clearer, brighter and smoother'. It definitely doesn't help too much with my blackheads and pores, but its definitely a nice smoothing and brightening mask. I've been enjoying using it during pampering sessions.

I'd definitely be interested in trying more from Good Things. I don't think I'll get as good a bargain as 49p again, but who knows!

Lush Haul

Hey all! Went to Lush earlier in the week and treated myself to some goodies, so I thought I'd show you! I'm just beginning to try more Lush products, I've always been a fan of their Shower Jellies and wanted to try even more because they're such a well loved brand.

Tea Tree Toner Water, £3.75 for 100g:
I've never been a fan of toners, but something tempted me to try this: "Comes to the aid of skin that has emergencies. Tea tree is a wonder antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobal ingredient for anyone with oily or spot prone skin". Oily? Spot prone? Thats me all right.

Mask of Magnaminty, £8.25 for 315g:
As much as I love the Fresh Face Masks, I hate that they have to be used up so quickly. So I jumped in at the deep end and bought a huge pot of this mask (it also comes in a smaller size). Its green in colour, and minty so it makes your face tingle. It definitely tightens up quite a bit, and cracks if you've got a big grin on your face! Its really nice though and seems to be doing a good job of fighting my spots!

Me in Mask of Magnaminty!
Cupcake Fresh Face Mask, £5.75 for 75g:
Believe it or not, I got this for nothing! The girl behind the counter asked which of the Fresh Face Masks was my favourite, and told me I could have Cupcake for free because they had been taken off the shelves because they were nearing their sell-by date! It still has two weeks of use left, I'm well chuffed! I love this chocolately face mask, its great for fighting my oily spotty skin.

Tea Tree Toner Tabs, 80p each:
I have yet to try these, but I've tried Lush's 'Dream Steam' toner tab before and enjoyed it, but at £2.50 it seemed a bit pricey for something you only use once. At 80p each, I got two of these. They're designed to be dropped into a bowl of hot water and keep your face over it. You can then use the water to cleanse your face, or I've even heard of people bottling the water and using it as a toner!

Sea Vegetable Soap, price depends on weight:
I should have taken this out of the wrapper to show you, because its the most beautiful turquoise colour (I'll leave a photo underneath). It contains seaweed, and smells just like my favourite Lush shower jellie 'Whoosh', very refreshing and great for making you feel better when you're super tired!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got from Lush! I'm really enjoying trying more of their products, any recommendations?

I'll have more posts soon, including a Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick review, an Illamasqua haul and possibly a MAC haul! xx

Review: Lush Cupcake Fresh Face Mask.

I've been looking to try a new face mask for a while. The ones in the packets don't really do it for me, and my Soap & Glory 'The Fab Pore' face mask, as much as I love it, makes my skin sting instead of calming it down. It costs £5.95 for a 75g tub, pretty pricey but you do get quite a lot for a face mask.

So, enter Cupcake from Lush. I've been trying to get into Lush products more over the last few months, and this seemed perfect. A face mask for oily, spotty skin, and it smells like chocolate? Yes please!

It smells super gorgeous, really chocolately with a hint of mint. I've been having a serious phase of breakouts, much worse than I usually do, but I've had this product for just under a week, used it a handful of times and already my face has cleared up and is definitely slightly less oily! It contains linseed infusion to nourish the skin, mint for toning, cocoa butter for moisturising and rhassoul mud to cleanse and absorb grease, all of which I think this face mask does!

Lush says to keep this product refrigerated, but living in Scotland I just keep mine in my bathroom next to the window, I still get that cool, super refreshing refrigerated feeling when I put Cupcake on my face. I leave it on for around 10 minutes, it does tighten up a bit, but its really easy to wash off unlike a lot of other face masks - this one just crumbles away when you splash your face with warm water.

I'm really impressed with this product, and its definitely encouraged me to try more Lush products in the future!
