I was lucky enough recently to be sent two products from The Body Shop's new Wild Argan Oil range to try; their Radiant Oil for body and hair, and their Miracle Solid Oil also for body and hair. The Body Shop say: "Argan oil has taken haircare by storm, and now you can experience the Hammam in your own home with our luxurious Wild Argan Oil bath & body collection".

I've been testing both products out and have to say I'm pretty impressed. Firstly, they both smell amazing (of what I'm assuming is the scent of Argan Oil), fragrant but not too overpowering. The Radiant Oil says "Dry oil with Community Fair Trade argan oil for radiant-looking skin and sleek hair". The texture/formula of this is almost identical to the dry oils already available at The Body Shop, only with the added bonus of argan oil and a super handy spray pump - something I've always disliked about the original dry oil packaging was that it just poured straight out! 

I've tried this on both my body and my hair, and it makes your skin so soft. It's a bit early to say whether its really making a difference to my hair, but having really thick dry curls means I need as much moisture as I can get, and I'd definitely say my hair feels softer already. The non greasy formula also means you can spray it on hair (post-washing) as part of your styling routine.

The Miracle Solid Oil is described as an "extra rich moisturiser for extra dry skin and hair", and its exactly that. It appears to be a solid, more concentrated version of the radiant oil, it melts easily and is perfect for those extra dry bits (elbows, knees and the like) that need some extra attention. Its also not super greasy. I've also been using this on my split ends and the rest of my hair as an overnight treatment, washing it out the next morning. I would definitely recommend this new range to anyone with dry skin/dry patches, and I think its a winner for everyone as far as haircare is concerned. Now onto the good bit!

Hair Extensions | My Story & Tips

Over the years, I've sported some good 'looks', and some really dodgy ones (see make up in left hand pic!) but I've often relied on hair extensions to extend the length of my hair when I've had it cut short. 

I have naturally curly hair, that I sometimes straighten then curl again with tongs, and I've bought sets of real hair extensions in order to style them to match my real hair. That's the great thing about real hair extensions, they won't melt like synthetic ones, so you can curl, straighten and blow dry them to your hearts content! I've   rocked them straight, very curled and 1950's styled and I've even bought pre curled extensions to match my natural curls. I've always bought clip in extensions as I've found them the easiest to care for, but real human hair weaves are also another option! I've often wondered about getting a weave but it's something I've yet to try! We'll see what the future holds.

Obviously, you still need to care for these extensions like real hair, because they are real human hair, so make sure you wash and condition them regularly. You wouldn't want hairspray and styling products just left in your real hair, so don't do it to your poor extensions! Extensions really are a great way to get long hair fast, without the serious haircare routine that goes along with having longer hair. It means you can change your hairstyle easily and create hairstyles only achievable with long hair. 

You might be thinking clip in real hair extensions are uncomfortable and not for you, but I can honestly say if you clip them in properly you won't even know you're wearing them. Except when people compliment you on your gorgeous new do! 

Different types of extensions do different things.Wavy real extensions are also a great way to add volume and texture to your hair without getting the curling tongs out. Longer extensions will help you to achieve up do's that are difficult to do with shorter hair. Large messy buns are currently bang on trend, but so hard to create with shorter hair! Extensions are your answer.

How To Fight The Fuzz | Hair Removal Products

I've decided to do something a little different today. We all have body hair. As much as we'd all like to say 'Me?! Hairy legs? Never!', we're all have a bit of fuzz and there are plenty of options for getting rid:

I've tried lots of different methods for hair removal, but these are the three products and tools sitting in my bathroom right now; my epilator, razors and some in-shower hair removal cream. Truth be told I find it all a bit of a faff (don't we all?) and I've been tempted to get laser hair removal. SK:N clinic in Glasgow are currently offering 30% off underarm and bikini laser hair removal, and I must admit I'm tempted to get my underarms done. 

But for now, I'll talk more about the products I currently use: 

Gilette Razors: £3.99 for a pack of 8 - These were incredibly cheap, and although they're not great they do the  job for quickly shaving your underarms and legs. I do like more expensive razors but these are what I'm working with right now. Like I said, they do the job. 

Veet Sensitive Formula In Shower Hair Removal Cream - £11.05 (currently £5.52) from Boots - I use this for my bikini line (like I wear a bikini!) and less often my legs. I really does the job but if you're not careful it can sting a bit. The best thing about this is that you can use it in the shower!

Veet Touchably Smooth Rechargeable Epilator - I'm not sure how much this was or where you can get it from, as Boots don't seem to stock it anymore, but I'll give you a wee run down on epilators in general. They're great for going on holiday or to festivals, any situation where you want super smooth legs/underarms or won't be able to shave whilst you're away. The effect is long lasting, but man is it painful. Epilation is essentially plucking the hairs at a super fast speed, so it is quite sore. Luckily there are a few soothing sprays on the market to make life easier. But if you want smooth and stubble free skin epilation definitely works. 

Like I said, getting laser hair removal is an option I'd look into in the future as I really hate the faff of it all, but in the meantime these three methods work really well to keep me fluff free!
