MAC Lipstick in Mehr

MAC Lipstick in Mehr: £15.00 from maccosmetics.co.uk -

I was lucky enough to win another MAC lipstick giveaway (I am so so lucky and grateful!), this time from the lovely Becky over at Beckawoo! I only had one lipstick I really wanted on my wishlist: Mehr.

Mehr is a medium neutral pink and is a matte finish, my favourite! It looks a little lighter in the photo above than in real life, but as you'll see it really is the perfect neutral pink. It's creamy and not too drying, the usual story with MAC matte lipsticks.

I've really struggled with light pink lipsticks over the years, anything too baby pink totally washes me out. On me, Mehr is a complete MLBB (my lips but better) shade. I'll include a FOTD with it on soon.

I absolutely adore this colour, it's the perfect everyday shade and I can see myself buying this again and again! Definitely check Mehr out if you're looking for pink lips that aren't too pale!

MAC Plumful Lipstick | Swatch & Review

MAC Lipstick in Plumful: £15.00 via maccosmetics.co.uk -

I was lucky enough to win this lipstick in a giveaway hosted by the lovely Katie over at Beauty & The Baker Blog http://beautyandthebakerblog.blogspot.co.uk. I got to choose the shade of lipstick or paint pot I would like, so I picked Plumful!

Plumful is a shade you may have heard about recently, as loads of bloggers seem to love it! MAC describe it as a "blossoming rose-plum", which is pretty spot on; it's a gorgeous plummy pink. It's a lustre finish so moisturises lips nicely, and it does have good pigmentation. The lasting time isn't amazing but thats to be expected when the lipstick isn't a matte finish! The only near dupe to this is the Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum, which is very similar but a smidgen darker and more purple.

I really really love this shade, most of my MAC lipsticks are incredibly bold and 'out there' colours, so it's nice to own something more 'everyday' from the brand. This is definitely a lipstick you can just slick on and go, and I'm looking forward to wearing it more!

Constance Carroll | Shimmer Glimmer Shimmering Powder

Hello everyone! Just wanted to begin this post by apologising; I've been a bad blogger. Over the last couple of weeks I lost my blogging mojo and just let it slip. But I'm back! With a quick review of these Shimmer Glimmer powders from Constance Carroll:

Constance Carroll Shimmer Glimmer in Nude Shimmer & Pink Shimmer: 95p each available here

I picked these up in my local Watt Brothers for 99p each, but you can find them online for as cheap as 95p. Truthfully, I had never heard of Constance Carroll before, but these Shimmer Glimmer powders looked lovely. And for 99p who can complain?

I bought the shades Nude Shimmer and Pink Shimmer, although there are another 3/4 colours. Nude Shimmer is my favourite of the two. It has three semi-matte shades and one more shimmery gold strip. It creates such a natural highlight and can even be used all over the face if you like a shimmery (but not too glittery) look. Pink Shimmer is definitely a blush on me, but those with darker skins could use it as a highlight. You could even use the two darker strips as a blush and the lighter two as a highlight, they really are multi purpose products.

If I was an MUA I would snap up all the shades of these and depot them into a palette! They have such good pigmentation considering they only cost me 99p I'm very pleased. Have you ever tried any Constance Carroll products?

Illamasqua Haul | Eurydice & Atomic Lipsticks

I decided to indulge in two lipsticks during the Illamasqua Easter Hunt sale, and I don't regret it one bit!

Illamasqua Lipsticks in Eurydice & Atomic: £16.00 each - Atomic looks a bit weird but all those bubbles are gone now. The only lipstick I've had from Illamasqua before was Fetish, and it was absolutely rubbish. But its a totally different story with these two.

Eurydice is an insanely bright fuschia pink. It's matte and is quite a dry formula, but it lasts for ages on the lips! Thumbs up!

Atomic is probably now my favourite lipstick ever. Again, a bright fuschia pink, this has a touch more red to it and a beautiful purple/blue duochrome running through it. Despite the shimmer, the formula is again matte and the lasting power is outstanding!

(P.S sorry for the rubbish lip shots, I didn't have time to make sure my lips were lined perfectly!)

NYX | Lip Pencil Haul & Swatches

I'd heard so many good things about NYX's lip liners I couldn't resist picking some up when they were on 3 for 2 on their website. I'm so glad we can get NYX easily in the UK now, as its shaping up to be a brilliant brand, and really popular!

I choses 7 shades of liner (from top) Cabaret, Deep Purple, Hot Red, Purple Rain, Fuchsia, Mauve and Nude Pink, at £3.00 each. They were on 3 for 2 and delivery was £4.50 so all in all I paid about £20.00, not too bad!

The liners aren't the longest pencils, they're about 3/4 the size of regular eye/lip liners but they are really cheap.

They're creamy and pigmented. I can't comment on how long they all last, but I wore Deep Purple yesterday along with MAC's Rebel and it lasted a good few hours, but it comes off when eating and drinking.

I think these are a great wee addition to my collection, I needed more liners to keep my lipstick in place and these fit the bill nicely! NYX have an amazing colour range so definitely check them out!

Kate Moss for Rimmel Spring/Summer 2012 Lipstick

Hello all! I've been meaning to pop this up for a while! Heres a quick look at one of the new Kate Moss for Rimmel S/S 12 lipsticks in Shade 16.

In all honesty, I wasn't impressed by the new Kate Moss collection. I have three lipsticks from her first offering, which I love. But I felt not much had changed, apart from changing the red signature on the side of the tube to pink, pretty much all of the colours were similar to the original line. Two reds, a magenta pink and some pinky nudes, just made a little brighter for Spring/Summer. However, when I spotted Shade 16 for £3.99 in Superdrug, I couldn't resist.

Its a gorgeous pinky coral, so different from the rest of the range. I would go so far as to say its Rimmel's answer to MAC's Nicki Minaj Viva Glam. Its very similar, its just slightly less bright and less intimidating.

I've yet to find a way to pull this off just yet, but I haven't tried many looks with it, and slapping a bright lippy on with no other make-up just makes me look terrifying!

Its definitely much brighter in real life than in this picture, but not overwhelmingly so. I'd say this was a nice middle of the road lippy for paler girls who found Viva Glam Nicki just didn't work for them. I'm definitely going to get a lot of wear out of this when/if we finally get decent summer weather up here in Scotland!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I'll be back with a wee Illamasqua haul later! :) xx
