Review: Topshop Blush

I went on a little shopping trip with my family on Sunday and picked up a few things, including the new Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' foundation, which I'll review after I've worn it a few times.

I've always wanted to try the Topshop make-up range, so I picked up this blusher in High-Five, which cost £6.00.

The photo isn't the best, but this really is a gorgeous incredibly bright pink, and to be honest, its a little scary in the pan. But on the cheeks, the cream to powder blush is gorgeous and blends beautifully.

4g for £6.00 isn't bad, but I feel like you should probably get a bit more for your money.

I'll definitely be picking up another of these, there was a lovely corally peach that caught my eye, and I'm going out again on Wednesday.

Disclaimer: I don't have an endless supply of money, I still keep money from Christmas and I've been selling a few things on Ebay. Just so you know.

Skincare Routine!

This is my new skincare routine, I've only been using it a couple of days so I can't comment on how its working, but I thought I'd show you anyway!

In the morning, I've started using Clean N' Clear Shine Control daily facial wash, which is oil free. It has a gorgeous fresh citrus smell and if it does the trick I'm definitely buying it again.

Next is the Nivea Young Clean Deeper! facial scrub. It's a lot finer than other scrubs I've used and it doesn't feel as if its doing its job properly, but we'll see.

At night, after taking my make-up off with wipes/make-up remover I use the Neutrogena Wave, which I got for the bargain price of £2.99! I'm not sure if I like this product, the cleansing pads provided don't really lather up at all, which is dissapointing, but I'll keep trying!

Finally, theres The Fab Pore Facial Peel, from Soap & Glory, its actually a face mask, and I've been using this for quite a while now, this is my second pot. I use it once in a while, but maybe I should start using it on a regular basis!

I don't use a lot of moisturiser any more, only on my dry patches and even then it's always a light or 'mattifying' product.

Hope you liked this, let me know what you'd like to see next! x

MUA Face Primer Review.

MUA Face Primer 27ml -£4.00

Okay, I bought this primer the other day, as I've been looking for a new one and can't afford Illamasqua Matte Primer right now. The majority of MUA products that I've tried have been amazing quality for the price, however, this just doesn't cut it.

The consistency is very watery compared to other primers I've tried, which really didn't seem like a good thing. It didn't make my skin feel any smoother, and made no difference on its own, although there was a definite difference to the look of my skin under foundation. It hasn't helped my skin to stay matte, which is incredibly important, so I doubt I'll be buying this again.

For £4, I wasn't expecting miricles, and I didn't get any.

Rimmel Match Perfection and Fix & Protect Primer Review

I've had both these products for a while now, but that gives me the chance to review them properly for you!

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer 30ml - £6.99

I've yet to indulge in a high-end primer, but its becoming obvious my oily/combination needs one, so after dissapointing results from the Loreal' one in the pot, I decided to try Rimmel's first primer!

I'm certainly not dissapointed, for the price, this is great stuff. It keeps my skin matte and oil free for a lot longer than  just foundation on its on. It definitely gives my skin a slightly smoother look too, nothing I'd rave about but it does make a difference.

In America, I believe the primer is tinted, but here in the UK its a white cream which goes clear when rubbed into the skin.

My bottle is nearly empty and I've recently purchased MUA's face primer and intend to buy the Illamasqua Matte Primer, but if I ever need a primer on a budget, I'll definitely be buying this again!

Rimmel Matching Perfection Foundation 30ml - £8.99

I got this in the shade 100 Ivory, which in the bottle is a similar shade to NW20 from MAC. Rimmel claim that the foundation has "Smart-Tone" Technology which adapts to skin tone and texture. Now, I'm not sure about all that, but it is a nice foundation and it certainly matches my skintone just about right after putting it on. It has good coverage too.

Its great for days when I want a medium/heavy coverage foundation and don't want to use a more expensive product. I've always trusted Rimmel to provide good quality make-up for a good price.

I would say I'd repurchase this product, but with Rimmel's new 'Wake Me Up' foundation about to launch in the UK, I think I'll be giving that a go first.

Rimmel products are currently on offer in Boots, so grab yourself a bargain if you fancy it! If you'd like to see any other products reviews, please just leave a comment! x

Soap & Glory Review

I love Soap & Glory. The retro pink packaging, the smell, their attitude to beauty, everything!

They are a fairly expensive brand but for the last few years I've been lucky enough to have been given their huge gift sets from Boots, so I've tried and tested quite a few of their products, and here are two of my favourites!

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter Body Butter 300ml - £10.21

This stuff is lovely smelling like every Soap & Glory product. It's definitely a 'body butter' rather than a 'body lotion' because its so thick, which I love because I really hate runny body lotions.

It leaves the skin super soft and smelling amazing, especially after using the body scrub.

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub 300ml - £6.64

I really love this body scrub, unlike other scrubs 'Flake Away' is really coarse and has much bigger 'granules', which takes off a lot more dead skin and makes your skin ten times softer than most other products. It really gets in there and does the job, and it leaves skin super smooth. Along with the body butter, its a killer combination!

I'd highly recommend these products to anyone with dry rough skin. Even though they're perfumed, they definitely don't irritate the skin. Lovely lovely stuff!

DIY: Dyeing red creepers black!

In early 2011, I bought red creepers planning to wear them to Download Festival. I didn't. I got the shoes super cheap on Ebay, and I loved them, but finding an outfit to go with them was a nightmare!

I've been debating dyeing them black for months now, but I've finally done it! I used the 'Dylon Suede Shoe Dye' in Black which I also got off Ebay.

You can still see a bit of red with a camera flash/bright lights so I might do another coat of dye, but overall I'm really pleased with the result!

Heres the before and after pictures!

Before I dyed them: pretty but unpractical!

Really pleased with the 'almost black' result.

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Review.

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 - £19.50 - Shade NW20

I love this foundation. Its one of those cult classics, not given so much hype as something like 'Orgasm' by NARS of course, but still owned by many.

I would say this is a medium/heavy coverage product. It comes in a little glass bottle with a rubber top, but you can buy a pump from the MAC store/website for £3 making it a little easier to use.

The great thing about this foundation is that it comes in so many colours, for both pink and yellow based skintones (NW and NC). For me personally, NW20 is just perfect for this time of year.

It gives me good coverage and lasts a good while on my combination/oily skin, but I still feel I need to invest in a better primer as it just slides off my forehead/nose/chin by the end of the day. If you had drier skin this would last much longer on you, same with any foundation really.

Overall, this is a great product. A little pricey, but most high street foundations are around the £10 mark, so I'm glad I invested a little more in this!

E.L.F. Haul.

If you haven't heard of ELF Cosmetics, they're an American company that recently arrived in the UK. They're an incredibly cheap brand with products starting at £1.50.

Studio Complexion Perfection - £3.50

This may look bizarre, but this powder is designed to even out your complexion! Green cancels out red tones, etc etc. This is my second order of the powder because I loved it so much! It has similar packaging to NARS too!

Studio Lip Liner & Blending Brush - £3.50

In the shade Fuschia. A double sided pencil with lip liner and lip brush.

Studio Make Up Mist & Set - £3.50

60ml, a spray designed to set your make-up after you've finished applying it.

Studio Daily Brush Cleaner - £3.50

Does what it says on the tin, a daily spray for dirty make-up brushes. Brilliant for those who can't be bothered washing their brushes all the time.

All Over Colour Stick - £1.50

From ELF's regular line, in the shade Pink Lemonade. Could be used for lips or cheeks, but I'll be using it just for cheeks. Most of the shades are good for highlighting but Pink Lemonade is more of a cream blush product.

Review; MAC Select Cover Up.

MAC Select Cover Up Concealer, £13.50

This is easily one of the best concealers I've ever used. The shade I was matched for was NW20, which was just about perfect for my skintone!

Its very creamy and has a medium coverage, so its not as thick as some of the other MAC concealers. Its good for covering up blemishes and spots, and I like using it as an under-eye concealer.
Its not heavy enough to cover birthmarks etc, but I didn't expect it to be.  The squeezy tube is really handy too, making it easy to apply then blend with either your fingers or a brush, whatever you prefer!

At £13.50 its a tad expensive for a concealer, but you do get a lot of product and I would really recommend it!
