Poundland Make Up Haul.

Hello everyone!

Now I know what you're thinking. Poundland, why? Well, at 8.30am after a doctor's appointment there aren't many shops open!

But anyway. I wandered into Poundland and bought two beauty products - a Nkd Skin 'Hide It!' Concealer in Shade 02, and a ChitChat Juicy Lipstick in Peony, both (you guessed it!) £1.

Firstly, theres the Nkd Skn 'Hide It' liquid concealer. This seems to be a Spanish brand, although the packaging was all in English. I was rather impressed by the lovely high end looking packaging.Shade 02 is a very pale neutral colour. For the price I'm impressed. The squeezy tube (similar to MAC's Select Cover Up), makes applying the product super easy. It has really good coverage, and although a little tacky when first applied it dried nicely and doesn't crease under the eyes.

Next, the Chit Chat Juicy Lipstick in the shade Peony. Chit Chat is Poundland's own make up range, and these lipsticks are their answer the the Clinique 'chubby stick' style lip products. The colour is a nice pale pink, and gives lips just a tint of colour. Its nice and moisturising too!

Overall I'm really happy with these two things, I'll definitely be popping back into Pounland again!

Hope you enjoyed this post, I'll hopefully have my festival make up post up tomorrow! xx

Matalan Jewellery Haul.

Hello everyone!

Normally, when I think of Matalan, I think of a fuddy duddy shop with the occassional good find. Mind you, I hadn't been there for a while! Until this morning, when I was ridiculously pleased to come across their jewellery section!

Its obvious that Matalan's 'Destiny' range comes from the same company who make jewellery for Topshop! Found a lot of the same designs for a lot cheaper. Anyway, I couldn't indulge due to saving up for Download Festival, but I did get a few things from their sale!

I bought this cross necklace for £2, and two pairs of cross earrings in silver and gold for £1.50 each! I've already owned the gold cross earrings from Topshop, and I can promise you they are exactly the same.

Matalan have so many beautiful pieces of jewellery that are right up my street, lots of crosses, studs, spikes, crossed and peace symbols! I'm definitely heading straight back up there next time I have some extra money to spend!

I'll be back with more posts later in the week! Hope you enjoyed this xx

Foundation Overview.

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts, been busy with exam revision, lack of money and festival preparation! But I'm back now :)

Thought I'd do a quick overview of all the foundations I own, and let you know what I think of them! I've never been a fan of buying lots of foundations at the one time, it seems daft, so I only have a few, if I like them, I'll repurchase, and if not, move on to something else!

Left to right; Collection 2000 Naturally Matt, Rimmel 'Wake Me Up', Bourjois Healthy Mix, Revlon ColorStay, MAC Studio Fix Fluid.

Collection 2000 Naturally Matt in Blonde 2, £2.99 - Bought this because it was so cheap but promised matte skin! Its not the best of foundations, and the colour was awful, all the shades in the range are way too orange, I had to pale mine down with white foundation. It has decent staying power though. Would I repurchase? No, probably not.

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation in True Ivory, £8.99 - This is one of my favourite foundations, it really does make you look fresh and awake! For £8.99 its a really good high-street foundation. It has sparkle but it doesn't make your face look like a glitterball! Doesn't have the best staying power on oily skin but its better than some foundations and is fine with powder and touch ups throughout the day. Would I repurchase? Already have!

Bourjois Healthy Mix in 52 Vanille, £9.99 - This is the newest addition to my foundation collection, and I really like it. Again, not the best staying power for oily skin but it would be amazing on normal to dry skin. Avoid if you have really sensitive skin, this is highly perfumed and might break you out! Would I repurchase? Yes, but might try the Healthy Mix Serum instead of the original foundation again.

Revlon ColorStay for Combination Oily Skin in Sand Beige, £12.40 - I had high hopes for this foundation, but it wasn't the miracle product I was looking for. It has good staying power, especially as its aimed at those with oily skin (there is a version for dry/normal skin too). The colour is good but oxodizes on extremely oily skin and goes a bit orange,  I think I need to test this foundation out a bit more. Would I repurchase? Maybe.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW20, £19.50 - A good sturdy foundation to have, MAC Studio Fix Fluid is good for all skin types, but especially oily skin. It has good staying power, but NW20 seems a little dark for me, which is a shame as its the lightest colour in the Studio Fix Fluid Range. For £19.50, its a good foundation but nothing overly impressive. Would I repurchase? Maybe, would like to try some other MAC foundations first.

I have a really nice collection of foundations, some nice ones for daytime and some more hardwearing ones for long nights out. Next on my hitlist to try are the Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation, the Sleek Creme to Powder foundation, and maybe a little something from Illamasqua! Need to finish a few of these first though, and save up some money!

Hope you enjoyed this post, whats your favourite foundation? Do you like me only have a few, or do you like to have lots of different products in your collection?  Let me know! xx

Collection 2000 Shine Away Powder Review.

Hello everyone!

Heres a quick review of and oldy but a goody! Collection 2000's Shine Away Powder - £4.10

Available from Boots and Superdrug, I bought the powder in the shade Light, and I have to say, its the best powder I've bought in a while, pressed or loose! I can't really justify spending £20 on high-end powders, although I've been tempted by the huuugeeee tub of NARS loose powder. But anyway.

I love this stuff! I've needed a powder to help stop my make up from sliding off my super oily skin! And this does the job, for a while at least. It sets my make-up for a lot longer than most powders I've used, it blurs imperfections and evens my skintone, and pales me out a bit, which I love as most of my foundations are a touch too dark.

For the price, I'm really liking this pressed powder!

Hope you enjoyed this, whats your favourite setting powder? xx

Perfect foundation? Just too orange?

Hello everyone!

I'm sure all you pale girls out there will have the same problem I do. You buy a foundation, put it on - the finish is perfect, it lasts forever - but its too orange!

Recently I bought Collection 2000's Natually Matt foundation in Blonde 2, their second palest shade. For £2.99, its a great little foundation, good for oily skin and perfect for my festival trip as it comes in a squeezy tube.

But all the shades were shockingly orange. I picked Blonde 2 because it looked ok, but on getting home I realised it was just as bad. Well, I have the solution!

I looked back into my goth past and remembered - white foundation!

I picked up Stargazer's White Foundation for £4.50 out of my local fancy dress shop, it retails online for £3.50. Barry M also do a white foundation but at £6 odd, it seemed a bit steep for mixing.

It mixed well with my Collection 2000 foundation and is just the right colour now! I still have loads of white foundation left - perfect for when my foundations are too dark for me in winter!

I think I'm on to a winner here, no more oompa-loompa face now!

Hope you found this helpful! Have you ever had problems with orange foundations? xx

Spring Nail Polish Picks!

Hello everyone! :)

Thought I'd show you my favourite nail polishes from my collection for spring!

Barry M Nail Paints in Strawberry Ice Cream, Mint Green and Berry Ice Cream.

At £2.99 each, you can't really go wrong. Berry Ice Cream is one of my all time favourites.

Models Own nail polishes in Mystic Mauve and Pink Fizz - £5.00 each.

I think these are great for something different for spring, a bit more glam for going out at night, but still pretty.

GOSH nail varnish in Starry Night - £4.99

Unfortunately, this is limited edition and I don't think you can get it anymore! Its pastel multi-coloured glitter, so unique and gorgeous! I love putting it over the Barry M pastel polishes.

OPI Nicki Minaj in Fly - £8.00 for mini set, £10.99 for full sized bottle.

This is a gorgeous bright yellow green, perfect for spring/summer!

Hope you enjoyed this post, whats your favourite polish for Spring? xx

No April Favourites!

Hello everyone!

I don't have a monthly favourites post for April, as I've bought products more towards the end of the month, and really, I've been using many of the same products that were in my March Favourites - http://thebeautyfiend13.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/march-favourites-2012.html.

Pretty sure I'll have a May favourites post though! xx

Lime Crime: Airborne Unicorn Review

I finally took the plunge and ordered my first Lime Crime product! I've been lusting after their bright bold lipsticks for years. I ordered it yesterday and it arrived this afternoon, so quick!

First off, how amazing is the packaging?! The box is gorgeous, and the tub itself is the most gorgeous lilac/bubblegum pink colour with a holographic unicorn!

The lisptick itself of course, is even better. I purchased the shade 'Airborne Unicorn', a mid-toned purple/lilac! Lime Crime's lipsticks are completely cruelty free and vegan friendly, and claim to be opaque, which they really are! The lipstick goes on completely opaque in one coat.

I ordered this from www.cocktailcosmetics.co.uk for my upcoming festival trip. I enjoy being able to go crazy with my clothes and make-up at Download, so Lime Crime was the perfect choice! It's priced at £11.50, or $16.99 on the offical Lime Crime website, which is about £9.00.

It really is the most gorgeous colour, really 'out there', but amazing! The quality of the lipstick is really good, its one of the most creamy, smoothest lipsticks I've ever owned.

Overall I'm really impressed with Lime Crime, and will definitely be buying from them again! Next on my list is their Carousel Gloss is Kalaidoscope, a glittery dark purple. You can buy Lime Crime from several stockists including Cocktail Cosmetics, or from their official website http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/idevaffiliate/idevaffiliate.php?id=1527

Hope you enjoyed this post! Have you tried any Lime Crime products? xx
