Lush Haul

Hey all! Went to Lush earlier in the week and treated myself to some goodies, so I thought I'd show you! I'm just beginning to try more Lush products, I've always been a fan of their Shower Jellies and wanted to try even more because they're such a well loved brand.

Tea Tree Toner Water, £3.75 for 100g:
I've never been a fan of toners, but something tempted me to try this: "Comes to the aid of skin that has emergencies. Tea tree is a wonder antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobal ingredient for anyone with oily or spot prone skin". Oily? Spot prone? Thats me all right.

Mask of Magnaminty, £8.25 for 315g:
As much as I love the Fresh Face Masks, I hate that they have to be used up so quickly. So I jumped in at the deep end and bought a huge pot of this mask (it also comes in a smaller size). Its green in colour, and minty so it makes your face tingle. It definitely tightens up quite a bit, and cracks if you've got a big grin on your face! Its really nice though and seems to be doing a good job of fighting my spots!

Me in Mask of Magnaminty!
Cupcake Fresh Face Mask, £5.75 for 75g:
Believe it or not, I got this for nothing! The girl behind the counter asked which of the Fresh Face Masks was my favourite, and told me I could have Cupcake for free because they had been taken off the shelves because they were nearing their sell-by date! It still has two weeks of use left, I'm well chuffed! I love this chocolately face mask, its great for fighting my oily spotty skin.

Tea Tree Toner Tabs, 80p each:
I have yet to try these, but I've tried Lush's 'Dream Steam' toner tab before and enjoyed it, but at £2.50 it seemed a bit pricey for something you only use once. At 80p each, I got two of these. They're designed to be dropped into a bowl of hot water and keep your face over it. You can then use the water to cleanse your face, or I've even heard of people bottling the water and using it as a toner!

Sea Vegetable Soap, price depends on weight:
I should have taken this out of the wrapper to show you, because its the most beautiful turquoise colour (I'll leave a photo underneath). It contains seaweed, and smells just like my favourite Lush shower jellie 'Whoosh', very refreshing and great for making you feel better when you're super tired!

I hope you enjoyed seeing what I got from Lush! I'm really enjoying trying more of their products, any recommendations?

I'll have more posts soon, including a Kate Moss Rimmel Lipstick review, an Illamasqua haul and possibly a MAC haul! xx

Revlon Lip Butters: Review & Swatches

Hello everyone! I know Revlon lip butters have been reviewed to death, but I've just got my hands on them so I thought I'd give you a little refresher!

left to right: Lollipop, Sweet Tart, Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait.
The first three lip butters I bought were part of a deal from BuyaPowa. BuyaPowa.com is a website that promotes 'co-buying' - the more people who agree to buy a product, the cheaper it gets! I love this idea, meaning I got three lip butters, Lollipop, Sweet Tart and Strawberry Shortcake, for £9.50, plus £1.95 postage and packaging. An amazing deal if you ask me, I'm getting three lip butters for less than the price I'd pay for two in Boots! The final lip butter I bought yesterday was Peach Parfait, which I got from Superdrug for £5.99. The three butters from BuyaPowa arrived yesterday, so I opened and swatched all four of them together.

Firstly, I love love love the packaging. The shimmery, quilted packaging that matches the colour of the lip butter inside is brilliant, and they're very glamourous looking! Secondly, the top of the lid is clear, allowing you to see into the lip butter to see which shade is which.

Now lets talk about the shades I got!

Lollipop: A gorgeous fuschia pink, its very pigmented and one of the darkest shades from the lip butter collection. It also has quite a bit of shimmer in. On the lips, its not far off from MAC's Girl About Town.
Sweet Tart: A lovely bright pink. Its definitely more of a yellow based pink than blue, which makes a lovely change for me. I really like it!
Strawberry Shortcake: A pretty pale pink. Not the palest pink in the collection, so perfect for me as it doesn't completely wash me out. Its not overly opaque and leaves a nice pink tint to the lips.
Peach Parfait: A peachy colour with lots of gold shimmer. This is the sheerest of the bunch, but its lovely nonetheless.

All four of the lip butters are very moisturisng, but provide the colour of a lipstick as well as the moisture of a balm! I'm all round in love with these products, I'll definitely be buying more of them!

I hope you enjoyed this, what did you think of the Revlon Lip Butters? xx

St Tropez Skin Illuminator in Violet.

Hello everyone!

Never in a million years did I think I'd be sitting here, writing to you about a St Tropez product! I'm not a fake-tanner, I've barely used the stuff and I much prefer the 'pale and interesting' look. But this isn't a fake tan product!

Alongside their more traditional illuminator shades of Gold and Rose, St Tropez offer something different - a Violet shade. I was immediately drawn to this, the idea of a violet illumator appealed to me greatly, and I'm not dissapointed!

St Tropez Skin Illuminator in Violet - £12.00 for 50ml. I think £12 for 50ml is a great bargain, especially considering I paid more than £20 for 30ml of NARS Illuminator, and the bottle wasn't even filled right up! You definitely get a lot of product for your money here.

I love this stuff, it comes out of the bottle white, but when rubbed into the skin it creates a gorgeous lilac/violet shimmer on the skin. Nothing too outrageous or obvious, just a subtle purpley shimmer.

I can see me wearing this all year round. My NARS super orgasm illumator is a summer only affair -peachy pink with lots of gold glitter - but you could get away with this cool-toned violet illuminator even in deep winter. The product is mainly designed for those with paler skins, but those with darker skin could definitely pull it off for an interesting look!

The above pictures really don't do it justice, you really have to see it in real life! You can find this product on the fake tanning aisle of larger Boots stores.

I'm really pleased with the St Tropez illuminator, I was never into the whole 'highlight, illuminate, contour' thing, but I'm slowly dipping my toes in and this is the perfect product! I'll definitely be looking into trying their 'Rose' shade.

I hope you enjoyed this post, do you use any illuminators? xx

Too Faced Mascara and Liquid Liner

Hello all!

This week, Debenhams are having an online sale, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out there were a lot of Too Faced products in the sale! I've loved Too Face for a long time, haven't tried a lot of their products, but what I do have I love, and I adore their super girly packaging!

I bought two things, firstly a favourite of mine, Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara in Black. I haven't owned this in so long, simply because I was unwilling to pay £16.50 for a mascara! But, on sale at £8.25, I was having it. Its the biggest, best mascara I've ever owned, and it makes my lashes huge! Its very volumising and plumping, and gives lashes a good bit of length too.

Secondly, I got Too Faced Metal-Eyed Liquid Liner in Plum Crazy for £7.00. I'm normally not a fan of coloured eyeliner. I'll maybe put a pop of colour on my lower lashline now and again, but something made me want to try something new, and I'm so glad I did! Crazy Plum is a beautiful bright purple metallic liner, with pink shimmer. I'll be wearing it on nights out when I'm feeling brave. I do love my black cat eye liner, but Plum Crazy is definitely a winner!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes 'Show Off' Mascara.

Hello everyone! Another purchase from my recent shopping trip, heres my review of Rimmel Scandal Eyes 'Show Off' Mascara - £4.99 on offer from Boots and Superdrug.

After my last (less than kind) review of the original Scandal Eyes mascara, I was wary of trying their new offering. Nevertheless,I purchased the new 'Show Off' mascara on offer at £4.99, (will normally be £8.99) hoping it would be a bit better, and was pleasantly surprised!

The interesting thing about the mascara is the brush - the flat part of the brush is designed to plump lashes, and the ball tip is designed to lift and define! Overall, I'd say using the ball part o the brush all over is a bit tricky, but its nice for getting into the corners of your lashes, like the original Givenchy ball brush!

Its definitely a good mascara, it gives lashes a good amount of volume and length. Nothing too extreme or amazing, but good enough for me to be satisfied! Unlike the original Scandal Eyes mascara, the formulation isn't too wet and the brush is plastic instead of bristles. The packaging is also very pretty, the purpley pink definitely appeals to me!

I'd say this mascara is a good staple product, nothing amazing, but definitely worth checking out if you're looking for something new!

Hope you enjoyed this post, lots more coming soon! xx

MUA Lip Boom Review

Hello all! This week  I picked up two of the Alexandra Burke for MUA Lip Boom 4in1 lipstick/glosses, and I thought I'd do a quick review!

I got two shades, LMK and OK.COM, both priced at £3.00, and Superdrug have a 2 for £4 offer on at the moment. LMK is a gorgeous dark wine coloured lipstick, with a corresponding dark pink and silver glittery highlighting gloss. OK.COM is a lovely nude lipstick with a peachy highlight gloss with gold glitter. I had orginally wanted the shade OMG, but it was sold out but oh well!

The product can be worn in 4 ways; wear the lipstick by itself, wear the lipstick with the highlighting gloss in the centre of the lips for a fuller look, lipstick with the highlighting gloss all over, or wear the gloss alone!

I think they're a really clever idea, and although the colour range isn't great there are a few to choose from! I'm really going to enjoy having a play about with these!

I hope you enjoyed this post, what do you think about the Lip Boom's? xx

The Body Shop Haul 14/06/12

Hello everyone, I'm back!

After a muddy weekend at Download Festival, not using all the make-up I'd packed, I went on a little shopping spree today! The Body Shop had a huge sale on, and I couldn't resist!

Wild Cherry Body Butter - £6.00
Blueberry Body Butter - £6.00

Got both of these for less than half price, they normally retail at £12.50. The tubs are huge, and I was drawn to these scents as I believe they were limitied edition or no longer being made, as they aren't normally on sale in store! The Wild Cherry is a little over powering and sickly sweet, but still amazing. The Blueberry smells amazing! I definitely think I'll be buyng it again if I can find it.

On The Body Shop website they have a few of the rarer body butters on sale at the moment, such as Raspberry, Papaya and Pomegranate!

Finally, I got this shower gel for free when I signed up for The Body Shop loyalty card! It's in the scent Watermelon and Eucalpytus and normally retails at £5.00!

I'm definitely going back for more sale stuff, I might just order from www.thebodyshop.co.uk , but I definitely fancy a few more bargains!

Hope you enjoyed this post, whats your favourite Body Shop product? xx
