Favourites | March 2013

I haven't done a Favourites post in a while, but I now have an iPhone so I can upload pictures much quicker and easier now when I don't have much time! So here are my favourites from March:

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara: £7.99 from Boots and Superdrug - I was sent this to review by Rimmel, and although skeptical I now love it! It makes my lashes long and separates them nicely, as well as giving them a bit of volume!

Collection 2000 Cream Puff in Cotton Candy: £2.99 from Boots and Superdrug- I bought this on a whim in Superdrug recently and it's a really nice matte pink lip cream. Nice for everyday when you want a pop of colour but nothing's too bright.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lighscapade: £21.99 from MAC - I will never regret buying this as its now my favourite highlighter ever. I'm not a huge lover of gold highlights or those that lean pink. This is just a gorgeous silver/champagne shimmer.

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain #30: £23.50 from Debenhams - I've seriously been loving this. Both the colour and the formula are great and I love wearing it for nights out and parties. Definitely going to get more of these one day.

L'Oreal Confetti Top Coat: £4.99 from Boots and Superdrug - This has been worn so much this month over all different nail colours. I especially love it over nude or pastel colours!

MAC Brow Duo in Blonde: £20.00 LE - This was a limited edition kit from MAC but you can still make it up yourself with a duo palette and Soba and Omega eyeshadows. I only use Omega for my brows and I can't see myself using anything else. Soba is lovely but doesn't match, so it's waiting til' I buy a 15 MAC palette and it can go with the rest of my neutrals.

Wednesday Wishlist | #6

Wednesday Wishlist | #6

Stila Countless Colour Pigments: £13.00 each, launching in April -  I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on some of these. I love the look of them so much they've taken up two spaces on my wishlist this week. These can be used as eyeshadows, blushes and Stila say you can even rub some on the ends of your hair for a ombre effect!

MAC Fashion Sets 2013 Lipsticks, launching April/May - The four colours from this years Fashion Sets are Silly, Ablaze, Embrace Me and Heroine. MAc are also releasing matching eyeshadows, lip liners, lip glasses and nail lacquers. I really want Heroine, a matte purple and the matching lip liner.

Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner and Smudgestick in Turquoise: £13.00 each, launching in April - I've seen swatches of this online and it matches the dress I have for my cousins wedding, I'd love to buy the smudgestick for my lower lash line.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner Vault: $295, launching in UK soon - This is amazing. 40 Urban Decay 24/7 liners including 13 new shades. It will retail at around £200 so it's way out of my price range, but its absolutely gobsmackingly jawdroppingly amazing and I'm seriously lusting after it.

Barry M Gelly Nail Polishes: £3.99 each - These really pretty gelly nail polishes have been raved about by lots of beauty bloggers and the colours are gorgeous.

Fragrance Direct | Dainty Doll Haul

I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the masses of bloggers purchasing uber-cheap Dainty Doll products from Fragrance Direct! I don't have a lot of money at the moment, but this lot cost me less than £15.00!

I got all four of the powder blushes at £1.99 each, a cream blush at £1.99 and two lipsticks, also at £1.99 each, bargain! Considering these are only being sold at 1/3 off in Boots its an amazing saving.

From l-r - Money Talks, Hippy Shake, My Girl and You Are My Sunshine -
These blushes are great! They are pretty sheer on me as they were designed for really pale skin and although I'm hardly tanned, I'm not beautiful Dita Von Teese pale either. But they make for a nice wash of colour on the cheeks.

Cream Blusher in Billion Dollar Baby -
This is pinker than I was expecting, but it still makes a nice cream contour without being too ashy.

Lipsticks in It's My Party and Storm In A Teacup -
It's my party is the most amazing neon pinky red, the only colour I can compare it to is Stellar from the Rimmel Apocalips. Perfect for summer. Storm In A Teacup is a not too pale shimmery nude, and doesn't make me look like I've got concealer lips, hooray!

All in all I got an amazing bargain from Fragrance Direct. They don't have much left now but they may restock as they have done before. So grab a great deal while you can!

Back 2 MAC | Rebel Lipstick

I recently got my first Back 2 MAC lipstick and wanted to show you all.

For those who may not know, Back 2 MAC is a program where if you take 6 MAC empties to a counter you get a brand new lipstick, totally free! It does exclude Viva Glam lipsticks but thats understandable.

I think this is an amazing program, and although it can take a while to build up your empties its definitely worth doing, so don't throw your empty MAC products away!

I picked up the shade Rebel, which I'd been lusting after for a while and normally costs £14.00.

MAC Lipstick in Rebel - £14.00

Its a beautiful deep pinky purple shade and I absolutely love it! I have quite a lot of lipsticks that are due to be finished, so hopefully I'll be returning another 6 empties soon!

Wednesday Wishlist | #5

Essie Mint Candy Apple Nail Varnish: £7.99 via Boots -  My cousin is getting married in May and I've spotted a gorgeous mint dress I'd love to get. This nail polish would match perfectly!

Revlon Lip Butters: £7.99 via Boots and Superdrug - Revlon are bringing out some new limited edition and some previously US exclusive shades of their lip butters. I'm definitely getting my hands on some.

Urban Decay Pore Perfecting Primer - We all know how amazing their primer potion for eyeshadows is, and I'd love to give this face primer a go.

Vera Wang Lovestruck: 30ml 50ml & 100ml - A beautiful new release from Vera Wang, and the bottle is crazy gorgeous!

Kiehl's #1 Lip Balm: £9.50 via House of Fraser and Kiehl's.com - I'm visiting the Kiehl's counter tomorrow to treat my Mum to a facial and I think I might pick up this lip balm to try, as my lips are quite dry just now.

Tangle Teezer: £12.99 via Boots -  I have super cury, frizzy tangly hair that needs a good brush. The tangle teezer may be the answer to my tangled tresses.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo | Light In Purple

Recently Maybelline have released three new colour tattoos on to the UK market. Still not as good as the American shades, but better than nothing! I picked up Light in Purple:

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Light In Purple: £4.99 via Boots and Superdrug -
Maybelline describe this as a holographic cream eyeshadow that can be layered over other colour tattoos or eyeshadows to create unusual effects.

I wouldn't describe this in any way a purple colour. It's a light metallic blue that in some lights has a pink/lilac duochrome. It's really unusual.

As always it stands up to the usual quality of the colour tattoos. Creamy, pigmented and long lasting. I haven't worn it much as I'm still trying to figure out how to make it work.

I'm excited to try this out over other eyeshadows and even more excited to see if Maybelline will bring out any more new shades in the future!

NYX | Lip Pencil Haul & Swatches

I'd heard so many good things about NYX's lip liners I couldn't resist picking some up when they were on 3 for 2 on their website. I'm so glad we can get NYX easily in the UK now, as its shaping up to be a brilliant brand, and really popular!

I choses 7 shades of liner (from top) Cabaret, Deep Purple, Hot Red, Purple Rain, Fuchsia, Mauve and Nude Pink, at £3.00 each. They were on 3 for 2 and delivery was £4.50 so all in all I paid about £20.00, not too bad!

The liners aren't the longest pencils, they're about 3/4 the size of regular eye/lip liners but they are really cheap.

They're creamy and pigmented. I can't comment on how long they all last, but I wore Deep Purple yesterday along with MAC's Rebel and it lasted a good few hours, but it comes off when eating and drinking.

I think these are a great wee addition to my collection, I needed more liners to keep my lipstick in place and these fit the bill nicely! NYX have an amazing colour range so definitely check them out!

Shopping The Stash | #3

Sorry for the gap between these posts, but here's my third shopping the stash!

Yves Saint Laurent Glossy Stain #30: £23.50 - I did post about this quite recently, but I've been using it loads and loads since I bought it. It's quite a bold colour but still wearable if you only use one coat, and it has great staying power.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Naked Rose: £18.00 - This is a gorgeous neutral pink, I really don't know how to describe the colour but I love it, it's not too in your face but still adds a pop of colour to the cheeks.

Inglot Neutral Palette - I'm so glad I got this palette! I've been using it loads since I bought it in January. I don't use the two top left shades as much as I should, but as a whole I do use it quite often. The quality is fantastic and I can see myself making up another palette in the future!

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish | Lightscapade

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade: £21.50 via MAC -

I've lusted after this mineralize skinfinish for so long. A beautiful champagne highlighter with blue and yellow veins, it called to me. So when I seen it was in the MAC 'Goodbyes' section on their website, I snapped it up. I'd been lovingly swatching it in store a few days earlier anyway, so I knew a purchase wasn't far away.

It's such a beautiful highlighter. Very much cool toned and not at all similar to MAC's Soft & Gentle or Gold Deposit, this is absolutely my favourite highlighter now. It's just a gorgeous multi-dimensional shimmer and you can really wear it with any make up look.

I love it. I'm completely bowled over and I'm so sad it's going away. But hold on - if you too are lusting after Lightscapade, it will return later this year as part of the Hayley Williams for MAC collection. Yay! I'll be stocking up when the time comes.
