Hello all!
Just to let you all know, in a few weeks time I'll be attending Download Festival for the 4th year!
Over the next few weeks I'll be putting together things to take to the festival, and that of course will include beauty products! I'll be showing you what I've bought and asking for your advice.
So, I'd like to know: would you be interested in seeing posts related to festival beauty and toiletries?
Just let me know! xx

Revlon ColorStay Foundation Review
Hello everyone! As promised heres my review of Revlon's ColorStay foundation:
So, I've been using this for a few weeks now and I can't say that its worth raving about or slating. Revlon Colorstay is quite simply just a good foundation.
At £12.49, its pretty pricey for a high-street foundation, but many people compare it to MAC etc, so its cheap compared to £19.50 for a bottle of MAC's Studio Fix.
I bought this foundation in Boots, and was colour matched to the shade Sand Beige for combination/oily skin. Revlon ColorStay comes in two types, one for dry skin and one for oily! I probably would have picked a lighter colour for myself if there hadn't been an assistant there, but I'd say shes matched me pretty well.
It claims to have 24 hour wear, but this is a blatant lie - no foundation has 24 hour wear!
I'd say it lasts a good few hours on my very oily skin, but it does start to slide after a while. It has a lovely matt finish and is a medium buildable coverage. It also oxidizes, so after a few hours I start looking a little orange.
I'd hoped this would be the foundation for me, I'd heard so many good things. But sadly, it just wasn't the miracle product I was hoping it would be. Overall, I'd say its a great foundation for anyone with slightly oily skin, but for those whose faces are like an oil spill, it just doesn't live up to its hype.
Hope you enjoyed this post, have you tried Revlon ColorStay, what do you think? xx

NOTD: Turquoise Glitter
I've never been a big fan of blue/green nails. But I love this colour!
I used two W7 polishes, neither of which have a name, but for the base coat I used a lovely dark teal, and then topped it with a turquoise glitter!

Haul 21/04/2012
Went a wee shopping trip with my Mama and picked up a few things I've had my eye on.
First off I found the shampoo that goes with the big 1L bottles of conditioner I bought the other week, yay! I paid more for it than I did with the conditioner, but ack well. Found it in TK MAXX.
Great Hair Anti Frizz Shampoo - £3.99
Next up was a trip to M.A.C! I'd had my eye on the Nicki Minaj Viva Glam, but seeing it in real life it was far too bright and neon for my skintone. So instead I settled for another colour I'd fancied, Hang-Up. Its a deep berry red with purple tones, and its my first Creamsheen from M.A.C!
Finally, I got some bracelets! I got 2 'Saints' bracelets at £2.99 each in pink and purple, and a Shamballa skull bracelet at £3.99, they're all so pretty!
I also got a few bits and pieces for when I go to Download Festival in June, but if I do any festival posts (would you like to see any?) then I'll show you!
Hope you enjoyed this! xx

I then went into Boots and picked up 2 more Models Own Polishes as they were 2 for £8. I picked up Mystic Mauve, a gorgeous metallic pink/lilac, and Pink Fizz, a baby pink glitter.
Models Own Nail Varnish in Mystic Mauve - £5.
Models Own Nail Varnish in Pink Fizz - £5.

Make Up Myth: Using Chafing Gel as Primer.
For years, I've heard beauty bloggers and YouTube guru's claim that chafing gel could be used as a primer. They claim that chafing gel (a product used to stop skin rubbing together and causing irritation), contains many of the same products as the majority of facial primers.
I can confirm: this is not a myth!
Lanacane Anti-Chafing Gel - £6.65, is a heck of a lot cheaper than most high-end primers, and even most high street ones! It feels smooth and silky on the skin, and definitely prolongs the wear of make up. It didn't last all day on my super oily skin, but if you have anything from combination to dry skin it would last a long long time. It might seem a little silly, but it really does work!
Hope you enjoyed this post! Have you ever found any beauty 'myths' to be true? xx

Nail Polish Haul: Models Own & Max Factor
Hello everyone! So this week, as my love affair with Illamasqua began, another one ended. For years, I've turned to Barry M for my nail polishes. For £2.99, their basic black and pastels are undoubtedly still my favourites, but recently I've become bored with their basic colour range and limited range of glitter polishes (apart from red, blue and green, none of them ever seem to be in shops!).
After seeing Model's Own 'Hed Kandi' collection and their dupe for OPI's 'Rainbow Connection', I had to get my hands on a few of their polishes. Looking on their website I quite fancied their 'Glitter Collection', but I already own colours similar to two of the polishes in the collection, 'Emerald City' and 'Purple Haze'. So I went into trusty ol' Boots today and made the most of their 3for2 offer:
Models Own in 'Juicy Jules' - £5.00
'Ibiza Mix' is a limited edition colour for 'Hed Kandi', and has been compared by a few bloggers to 'Rainbow Connection' by OPI in their Muppets Collection. It has a clear base with lots of multi coloured glitter particles, both large and small. Its truly gorgeous and I might just grab another bottle before the shops stop selling it!
'Disco Mix' is a lovely polish with mix of blue and magenta glitter, and is one of the most unusual glitter polishes I've ever seen. Its also one of the most opaque glitter polishes ever, and is completely opaque after 2 coats.
'Juicy Jules' is a simple silver glitter holographic polish, and will make a really nice top coat over lots of different colours.
I also picked up the much blogged about 'Fantasy Fire' by Max Factor - £3.99

This is a really pretty shimmery purple with pink, red and orange depending what light it is in, and even some greens and blues. I've read that its best used as a top coat on top of pale colours, so I think I'll try it on top of a lilac.
I'm really happy with the nail colours I've bought, I think I'll definitely be buying more Model's Own polishes, not sure about Max Factor as £3.99 is pretty pricey for the tiny bottles.
Whats your favourite nail colour at the moment? xx

Illamasqua Haul/Review!
Hello! So, as expected, my love affair with Illamasqua has begun! In my post the other day I mentioned I'd purchased some things from their Easter Hunt Sale at the weekend, and here they are!
My delivery arrived yesterday, packaged beautifully, and I am so so happy! Everything I got is gorgeous:
llamasqua Powder Blush in Hussy - £8.25 (Normally £16.50).
Illamasqua Powder Blush in Tremble - £8.25 (Normally £16.50).
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Jo'Mina - £6.75 (Normally £13.50).
Hussy is described as a 'candy pink', which it is, but I would also say it has peachy tones. Tremble is described as a 'lilac pink', which I completely disagree with, as it also has peachy tones. I am slightly dissapointed in my choices as Tremble really is just a lighter version of Hussy, I'm starting to wish I'd purhcased Lover (a bright apricot) instead. However, both shades are incredibly beautiful, matte and deeply pigmented.
The blushes just wouldn't photograph well in the dull Scottish daylight, so this is the best shot I have of the colours, but this is pretty spot on!
At 4.5g, they have 1.5g less product than M.A.C blushes. However, I can't deny that the colour and pigmentation of these blushes completely blow M.A.C out of the water.
The nail varnish in Jo'Mina, is now my favourite nail polish ever. It's described as an 'electric lilac', and I couldn't think of a more perfect description. These pictures really don't show of how beautiful it is, but its just incredible.
I hope you enjoyed this post! I'm really pleased with my purchases. Do you have any favourite products from Illamasqua, or is there anything you'd love to try? Let me know! xx

Haul 11/04/2012
Hello all! Went on a wee shopping trip today, and picked up a few things!
Knayton Hall Scented Room Spray in 'Boudoir' 200ml - £4.99. I've always faniced myself as a lover of all things vintage or vintage styled, so when I seen this room spray with the old fashioned 'sprayer', I could'nt resist. It smells gorgeous too, bonus!
MNY Nail Varnishes in 669 and 553 - £2.99 each. These colours were so gorgeous I couldn't resist. 669 is a lovely dark steely silver grey, and 553 is a nice purply pink magenta.
Great Hair Anti Frizz Conditioner 1L - £1.99 each. When I seen these in B&M Bargains, I couldn't believe it! One litre of conditioner for £1.99? Yes please. I go through conditioner like nothing else as I have super curly, frizzy hair. These will allow me to splurge on a more expensive hair smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner and not waste money on expensive deep conditioners! Might go back and stock up i they're any good!
I never went out with plans to buy anything, but came back with some amazing bargains!
Hope you enjoyed this, have you discovered any bargains recently? xx

Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows.
Hello! Heres an overview of Maybelline's Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadows:
Disclaimer: Although I have previously stated on this blog I will always try and use/review cruelty free brands, these items were given to me by a friend who didn't realise I had stopped buying Maybelline. It would be unfair to throw away such beautiful products and unfair to hide them away without showing you.
I have two of the colours - On and On Bronze and Permanant Taupe. I believe these have different names and packaging in the States, but are exactly the same colour. I've wanted to try cream eyeshadows for a while, M.A.C's Paint Pot's and Benefits Cream Shadow's have been a little out of my price range.
They come in small glass pots (not dissimilar to M.A.C's paint pots), and retail for £4.99 each here in the UK and are available at Boots and Superdrug, although so far in Scotland I've only seen them in Superdrug.
Permanent Taupe is a lovely greyish, slightly purplish taupe, and is almost matte. On and On Bronze is just a bright, shimmery bronze, and very pretty.
Heres the swatches!
They really are lovely, I'm looking forward to seeing if they have anything near the 24 hour wear they claim to, and if I'll need an eyeshadow primer with them!
Hope you enjoyed this post! xx

Katy Perry for Eyelure "Oh Honey!" Falsh Lash Review
Heres a quick review of the Katy Perry for Eyelure "Oh Honey!" falsh lashes.
I knew I wanted the Katy Perry lashes from the moment I saw them! I love Katy's look, and I love falsh lashes. I picked up the 'Oh Honey!' lashes on a recent shopping trip as I needed a full but natural looking falsh lash.
They're absolutely gorgeous, full and wispy, but nice and long too. They're the perfect length for a 'noticeable' but natural look.
They sit easily on the lash line, the lashes themselves don't have a huge thick strip for the glue, just a very thin one, which makes them look better and apply much more easily!
I really do like these lashes, they're a touch pricey at £5.95 (Some of the range is priced at £6.95) but are definitely worth the money and if you take good care of them they'll last a while. I'm hooked and I'll definitely be buying some of the other sets!
Hope you enjoyed this, whats your favourite brand of falsh lashes? xx

March Favourites 2012
Here are my March favourites, products I've been using lots and loving this month.
Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro Primer -£6.99
I love this for a decent priced, high-street primer, its great! It does have silicone in it - an important ingredient in primers, but it doesn't feel like a heavy layer on your face. Its really smooth and helps my foundation stay on much much longer than it normally would.
NARS Illuminator in Super Orgasm - £21.00
I wasn't sure about this product at first but now I love it! I've yet to use it all over my face mixed in with foundation, its far too glittery! But I love it as a highlighter at the top of my cheeks.
Benefit Glossytown Lipgoss Set - £19.50
Got this as a Christmas set, and its lovely, there are six mini lipglosses and all the colours are gorgeous, some more than others. Its allowed me to find some really stunning colours that I probably wouldn't even have looked at otherwise!
Hope you enjoyed this! What are your March favourites? xx
